Patrick Air Force Base--Today members of an elite group, cut the ribbon to formally open the new Air Force Technical Applications Center (AFTAC). The new $158 million facility replaced the old 1950s building that had outlived it usefulness for the 21st century technology that is so vital for the mission of AFTAC--to monitor compliance with nuclear test ban treaties worldwide.
