Wat Punyawanaram, Melbourne, Florida's Thai Temple, celebrated the Kathin Festival. The festival signals the ending of the Rain Retreats--the end of the Thai rainy season. Members of the temple give the Thai monks new robes and provide support for the temple's upcoming expenses in the form of 'money trees'. These 'trees' are decorated by local groups and individuals and presented to the monks who in return, bless their family and will pray for their happiness.
